testimony TESTIMONIES

VBS Testimony
by Karen Abaya
Children's Ministry

All praise, glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ!  For apart from you, we can do nothing.  OurLord God is truly faithful.  We praise and thank the Lord for the amazing things has done has done during the VBS.

On the first day of the VBS, the passage from John 21:4-12 wherein Jesus appears to the disciples by the Sea of Gallilee, was the Lord’s encouragement to us volunteers.  It was the Lord Jesus would bring in the “fish” or harvest.  All we had to do was cast the net.

  • We planned and budgeted for 60 children and 40 volunteers.  But the Lord brought in 90 children and 51 volunteers.
  • Through the prayer ministry and harvest ministry, 14 people received Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
  • Children learned about Jesus’ works and his love through songs, stories, lessons and games.
  • Children received Jesus and were layed hands.
  • New members joined the dance ministry.
  • A child as he went home, told his parents that they should be reading the Bible.
  • A volunteer was wounded on the head with 5 stitches, but was still here daily to fulfill what the Lord has tasked him to do.
  • A family member is back in church and is serving the Lord through several ministries.
  • A new care group for artists is in the works.
  • A volunteer has decided to volunteer full time in the children’s ministries.

These are just some of the testimonies we’d like to share.  I’m sure there’s more!

The net was full but it did not break.

  • The provisions for facilities, equipment, volunteers as well as finances were readily available upon request.
  • Church leaders, staff and members gave their time, efforts and even finances.
  • The multimedia ministry was also present to document the event.
  • But even during challenges, it was the Lord who encouraged and comforted us through his word, people and circumstances.
  • It was the Holy Spirit who gave us the anointing and strength.
  • It was the Jesus who was our constant source of inspiration, courage and joy.

The Lord called us to rest, as we ended the graduation with the Lord also providing the food donated by volunteers.

The event was all for God, by God.  Thank you Jesus!  You’re our superhero!
