DVBS 2007:
Reaching New Heights with Jesus

This year, our VBS theme was centered on Jesus, who He is, and the great miracles that he did. It was four days of fun, meeting friends, food and becoming “fans” of Jesus. The adventure in store was aptly entitled “Mt. Extreme: The Ultimate Good News Challenge” and the goal was to reach new heights with Jesus.
The Worship center was reinvented like a mini campsite- mountains, trees, tents and a small pond were set up. The staff created a mock camp fire in the Bible Base Camp where the lessons were taught. There was a Crafts Cavern where participants could create beautiful art works related to daily lessons. To befit an ambience for kid enjoyment, an obstacle course was also set up in the Games Area where children had their time crawling and jumping through ropes and nets. And of course, a Snacks and Refreshment Area was there where the children could take a break and recharge with sumptuous meals.

Kid participants professed their worship through songs and dance. Ate Anaross Anonuevo, ministry servant of the The Dance Ministry, taught children some fun dance routines. Special guests like Kuya Jay Menes, Kuya Noel Olidan and Kuya Ray Frando relayed God's word thru storytelling and acting. Pastor Dennis, Kuya Yonel and Ate Joy Olid were also there to give the children a deeper and a more significant understanding on Jesus. Michelle and Michael, the two lovable puppets that kids came to know during the VBS days gave lessons on how to tell others about Jesus.

As the children learned about Jesus, our volunteers also had their own heavenly encounter through prayers and daily devotionals. Each day posed as a manifestation of the Lord's faithfulness. All four days were an opportunity to experience Jesus and praise Him for the blessings that He gave all throughout the activity. Everyone involved in it was privileged to do an act of humble service and obedience. Best part of the VBS was that the Lord gave us a rare opportunity to have fellowship with children, fellow volunteers, parents and helpers.

While the children and volunteers were having fun, the Prayer and Harvest Ministries evangelized to parents and guardians who were with the children during this fun event. Their helping hand, prayers and support were really remarkable.

To sum it all, we can say that we have climbed and reached new and amazing heights with Jesus! All praise, honor and glory to HIM alone!
