Before the great ascension of Jesus, he summoned his disciple to preach. Firmly founded on the ruins of His crucifixion, they went out of their comfort zones to tell this wonderful encounter to everyone they meet. They used all their knowledge to preach, bless believers (and non believers) and teach the doctrine. They cast out demons in His name, hailing His lordship and immeasurable power.
Today, in this fast-paced, dynamic setting, the commandment to preach the scripture still holds to every Christian so that the world will have the benefit of being saved. It is for this purpose that every Christian should never tire of studying the word of God so we would know how to introduce this faith to others who still have different perception of Him. Jesus was right when he said that a blind man leading another blind will lead to tragedy. Everyone who is set to evangelize should be mindful of this parable. To sustain a meaningful teaching on the word of God, thorough study is involved as well.
Through careful study of the scriptures, God's wisdom will prevail and convey Himself to those who diligently seek. God appoints leaders and those who were called to get involved should dedicatedly pursue being effective spiritual guides. They need to tap their gifting and use them for God's glory. This can only be achieved by continued reading, studying and living the word of God. It is not enough to tell people about Jesus, being the only way to righteousness. They need to see a compelling proof that this proclaimed faith resides within and is obvious in every faculty of the person teaching. A noticeable steady, personal growth and a fruitful evangelism is a very good progress indicator. It is not enough to discover and understand the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We need to use them enthusiastically to address faith not only with proper regard but with a burning conviction to follow the great commission. |
