Chumreap sooa! (Greetings!)
Our supported missionary to Indo-China and a member of this church arrived a month ago in the country for a 6-month furlough from being on the field. She has been in Indo-China for the last three and a half years, doing language surveys for the different minority groups of the said country. Together with other missionaries, they go to different provinces in Indo-China to study the heart language of the ethnic groups, so to be able to know the needs in translating the Bible to the local dialect. She works under the Translators Association of the Philippines.
Recently, she had shared with the church what God has been doing to the people from this part of Asia. She showed pictures of how people in that country live, and how they, the missionaries, interact with the locals. In spite of the difference in culture, they found joy in talking and in understanding the ways of people different than their own.
The country where she works , on the other hand, is a Buddhist nation. Unlike before, this country has been more tolerant and the church has been able to worship openly though, in some places, opposition remains. Conversions in Buddhist families can mean rejection and new believers can lose their jobs and promotion.
These Bibleless people groups have waited long enough for the Bible to be translated in their own language. The challenge for us is to pray, Go, and Give! Let us continue to grow together in commitment to serve Him. Let’s proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth and come together to see these nations, tribes, peoples, and languages worship the only true God.

That God will guide her in making the right decision as to which specific language group she’ll be involved with when she goes back after her furlough;
